10 Destinations to Travel without Quarantine

Traveling from Shanghai has been more and more promising! We’ve found 10 popular travel destinations in China that don’t require quarantine for tourists from Shanghai’s low-risk areas. Check this out!

1、A negative PCR test within 48 hours and RAT self test within 24 hours (or simply a PCR test within 24 hours) are required to leave Shanghai.


2、Make sure to find hotels which accept tourists from Shanghai and make required registration with their help.


3、All information were collected on June 28th and are subject to any changes.


4、Please follow the local COVID-19 prevention guidelines.


Sanya
Require: Green health code



Tourists from Shanghai’s low-risk areas are able to fly to Sanya without quarantine requirements. All you need for boarding is your green health code. 



Flights from Shanghai to Sanya are gradually resuming. But at present all air tickets are full price. And the accommodation cost has also doubled within a week.



Haikou

Require: Green health code



While Sanya is the hottest spot where everyone plans to go, why not visiting Haikou, another seaside city in Hainan?


According to the relevant data, the number of sold air tickets to Haikou has increased by 92%!


If you a seafood lover, Haikou could be an ideal place. The seafood market here is open after 4pm everyday, offering fresh seafood with a great price.



Changsha

Require: PCR test within 48 hrs

+ another PCR test within 24 hrs upon arrival



Changsha is heaven for foodies, especially those who love spicy food.



It is also a cultural city. Yuelu Mountain is a must-visit attraction in Changsha.



Dunhuang

Require: PCR test within 48 hrs + RAT test within 24 hrs



Gansu was the first province to exempt Shanghai tourists from quarantine. Among all cities in Gansu, Dunhuang is the most worth visiting. Here, religion and art are perfectly integrated. 



The famous Mogao Grottoes is a must-visit place. The exquisite murals and statues are astonishing. Photography is not allowed in the cave. You can only record the beauties with your eyes. 


In sunny days, visitors could enjoy the spectacular scenery on Mingsha Mountain.



Moganshan

Require: PCR test within 48 hrs + green health code

+ PCR test at freeway exit and hotels



Moganshan, about 3 hours from Shanghai by car, is an popular location to avoid the summer heat.  It is an expat retreat, perfect for hiking or a relaxing weekend getaway.




Qiandao Lake

Require: PCR test within 48 hrs



Qiandao Lake, meaning thousand-island lake in Chinese, is a human-made, freshwater lake located in Chun'an County, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.



It has the largest national forest park in China with a forest coverage rate of 95%. Visitors can enjoy natural scenery, observe wild animals and take part in many exciting activities .




Jiaxing

Require: PCR test within 48 hrs + RAT test within 24 hrs

(or PCR test within 24 hrs)

+ PCR and RAT test upon arrival



Jiaxing is also an ideal travel destination near Shanghai. There are many ancient towns, the most famous of which is Wuzhen. On June 11, Wuzhen announced the resumption of operations.




Zhoushan
Require: PCR test within 72 hrs



Recently, Zhoushan announced that tourists from low-risk areas are exempt from quarantine.



Mount Putuo is one of the 1,390 islands in Zhoushan, covering an area of nearly 13km2. And it is strongly related to Buddhist culture.




Xiamen

Require: PCR test within 48 hrs + PCR test upon arrival


Xiamen, formerly romanized as Amoy, is a sub-provincial city in southeastern Fujian. Every summer, thousands of tourists go to Xiamen for its beaches and sunshine.



Gulangyu, a century-old delicate small island on the southwestern side of Xiamen, is the popular destination with splendid natural scenery, colonial styled architectures and numerous interesting museums.


Shapowei is also recommended. It was once a small fishing village. Now it has become a hub for local artists and entrepreneurs.




Suzhou

Require: PCR test within 24 hrs 

+ Sukang code (health code in Suzhou)



Suzhou, which is super close to Shanghai, has finally opened its arms to Shanghai residents. Many people who work across cities can finally commute normally. Tourists in low-risk areas can also move freely.



Since 42% area of the city is covered by water, including a vast number of ponds and streams, it is praised as the "Venice of the Orient". Here visitors can truly know the charm of classical Chinese gardens.
